Guru Ligger Wire Float
While these floats have similar properties to the Skimmer in terms of stems, bristles and sensitivity, it is the body shape that sets them apart, with these featuring a much rounder profile. This gives the float ultimate stability and allow it to be easily controlled in flowing water conditions, perfect for use on rivers.
The body shape means that the float can be held static or held-back against flow to achieve a certain kind of presentation in moving water, slowing the bait down without the body of the float riding up out of the water. Because of the rounder body shape of this pattern, if the line passed around the outside of the body the abrupt angle it can cause line damage, especially when moving the float up or down. To overcome this, these floats feature an in-line system with a small piece of silicone running through the float, eliminating line damage completely.
The wire stem versions of the float are suited to situations when stability is priority, allowing you to hold a bait super stable and static even in rough and windy conditions. The carbon stem version is better suited to fast fishing situations where reduced tangles are priority when quickly shipping in and out, or when you’re looking to catch fish on the drop allowing the float to ‘follow’ the shot down as it falls through the water. The carbon itself is thin for ultimate performance, cutting through the water cleanly so you don’t get any annoying hold-ups in surface skim on calm days.
Sizes Available (wire stem and carbon stem): 0.5g, 0.75g, 1g, 1.5g, 2g, 2.5g, 3g, 4g
Guru Natural Pole Float Range Explained:
This particular range of floats has been in development for a long time, we’re pretty sure you’ve seen various samples used by our consultants and in films for a good while now! However, we’ve been constantly tweaking and adding to the range during the design and production phase for us to produce a comprehensive collection of floats that are tailored to a diverse range of natural venue work across rivers, canals and stillwaters. Finally, they have arrived!
The range comprises of eight different patterns that covers many shapes and sizes, all having specific uses in different situations. You’ve undoubtedly noticed that the floats have been tried and tested thoroughly by our team of international anglers, with the likes of Matt Godfrey, James Dent, Steve Ringer, Frankie Gianoncelli and Andy Bennett all contributing towards their production. Huge amounts of attention and lots of alterations have been made to the lengths and diameters of stems and bristles, so each size is unique and perfect for the situation in hand.
The key feature that sets this range of floats aside from anything we or others have ever produced before is the Elastilex Paint Finish, giving the floats ultimate strength, durability and longevity. This finish means the high-quality balsa bodies of the float are protected by a super thin and incredibly durable elastic coating that wraps the body, preventing any damage to the body from wear, impact or line-cutting into it, further reducing the chances of the floats taking on water. The paint finish is dark in colour, which our key anglers felt was important with these floats been used on clear, natural venues, the dark body blending onto the water enabling ultimate focus on the Hi-Viz bristles.
